The State of Amapá has unique geological characteristics, placing it as one of the states with the greatest mineral potential in Brazil, in addition to the exploitation of gold, iron, chromium, manganese and kaolin, the State has the potential for strategic minerals such as niobium, tantalum and titanium. The Diagnostic Study of the Mineral Sector of the State of Amapá, published in 2010 by the State Government, points to the existence of 09 Mining Districts with high potential for non-metallic and metallic minerals, which are associated with "greenstone belts" land.

STATE MINING CLOTH 2019-2030
In 2020, the State Government launched the State Mining Cloth 2019-2030, with the objective of promoting the development of sustainable mining and contributing to the economic and social growth of Amapá through legal certainty to attract investments to the formal mineral sector; organization of the informal mineral sector; promotion of actions aimed at encouraging activity and the social and environmental sustainability of mining.
The Mining Plan of the State of Amapá is a guiding instrument for public policies, and a framework for attracting investments, validating the resumption of mining development in the State.
