WOOD AND FURNITURE
With an estimated timber potential of 277.17m³/ha, Amapá has the most organized way of exploiting the forest heritage in the Amazon in execution. The State Forest - FLOTA with an area of 2.4 million ha had its first forest concession lot released for an estimated production of 80 to 100 thousand cubic meters of wood per year.
AÇAÍ
Small purplish black fruit that is the important base of the region's food. Amapá is the second largest producer of açaí in Northern Brazil, and the only one with an international management certificate, a potential that represents an important path for the economic development of the State, a survey carried out by the Institute of Scientific and Technological Research of Amapá - IEPA, in The region of the Araguari River, in the East of Amapá, mapped the occurrence of native floodplains in 10.6 thousand hectares, identifying that this large area has commercial potential.
PHYTOTHERAPY AND PHYTOCOSMETICS
Amapá has large reserves of biodiversity, which are already used as inputs for biocosmetics with potential for expansion. The global market for Amazonian bioproducts is expanding, representing an attractive investment segment for Brazil, opening an important window of opportunities.
