A The coastal zone of Amapá is more than 600 km long and receives part of the waters and fish from the Amazon River (the largest freshwater river in the world), so the place is rich in its biodiversity and offers business opportunities to invest in the fishing industry. Of the total area of Amapá, 3.4% is equivalent to rivers, streams, lakes, dams and flooded fields, which have favorable conditions for fish farming.
The State of Amapá has 10 coastal municipalities and 16 fishing colonies.
